Frequently Asked Questions

RAISE is a platform that is designed to help patients get the non-clinical support they need as they go through treatment. The platform allows a patient to ask for both financial and non-financial support from their friends and family. It is designed to make it easy for the patient to ASK for help, and makes it easy for people to GIVE patients the support they need. RAISE combines the simplicity of a registry-type list with the personalized needs of a patient and a financial tool, into an easy-to-use platform.
-
Patients using RAISE can create a list of all items that they need help with (both financial and non-financial) and post those items on the platform so that everyone who wants to help them has visibility to what the patient needs.
The patient can invite Family, Friends, Neighbors, and Colleagues to be part of their support community (known as a care circle). People in the patient’s care circle no longer have to guess how they can help, and have options and flexibility in the ways they can provide support to the patient.
RAISE also enables people and organizations that don’t know the patient to provide their support. These donors will only see the financial needs of a patient and will have an opportunity to donate directly to patients by going to http://tigerlily.wittforever.com. To ensure that donors know that they are giving to someone in need, we ensure that every patient that is seen on the site has been verified as a real patient by Tigerlily.

While most patients need help, they don’t want to be a burden or an imposition to the person they are asking, which results in patients not asking for help. There is a natural stigma of asking for help, and RAISE is designed to remove the stigma by making it easy for a patient to ask without the feeling of being a burden on others.
The RAISE platform breaks this dynamic by enabling a patient to ask for the help they need without asking any specific person. Patients can put their asks and needs out to everyone, invite people that want to help them to see what they need help with, and then give the people that want to help the opportunity to decide how much they would like to help.
By not asking a specific person to do something for them, but yet giving people who want to help the visibility to help, the RAISE platform takes the fear out of asking.

The RAISE Support Registry is the name for the list that a patient creates. It comprises the patient’s financial and non-financial needs.
-
Our platform allows the patient to ask for both Financial and Non-Financial support.
- Examples of Financial items include: help with rent, groceries, medication, etc.)
- Examples of Non-financial items include: picking up children from daycare, going for a walk, talking, etc.)
Note: Nothing is too trivial to ask for. We have had patients ask for funds for haircuts, for Ice-cream for their children, for rent, for company to have dinner with, etc. The goal is to ensure that patients are comfortable asking for anything they need help with.
-
No.
- Financial Help: Everyone in your care-circle will see any need that is a financial ask
- Non-Financial Help: You have the opportunity to determine which group(s) you want to see any non-financial ask you have. Only groups that you “allow” to see a non-financial request will see it.
-
The confidential platform allows the patient to determine who they want to invite to support them as they go through treatment. Who you invite to support you, and what you want them to see, is 100% dependent on you.
-
There are many people who are either survivors and have dealt with what you are dealing with, or are/have been caregivers for patients going through what you are going through. Most people want to help others in need.
The problem has been that people who want to help, don’t often know what a patient needs help with. This platform gives them visibility into what a patient needs help with and it gives them the OPPORTUNITY to provide help.
-
Most of the other sites are focused on helping the caregiver who is supporting the patient. As such they are focused on the needs of the caregiver and the clinician and not necessarily the needs of the patient.
The RAISE platform puts the patient at the center of everything we do. We recognize that patients’ needs are different from those of the people that care for them or people who support them. We wanted to give the patient a voice to ask for what THEY needed to help them get through their patient journey.

Here are some tips that have helped patients:
- Invite as many people as you can to join your care circle. The more care circle members you have, the more likely your registry requests will be claimed. Give them the OPPORTUNITY to help you.
- Don’t only put high dollar requests as single registry items. The lower the dollar amount the more likely your registry item will be claimed.
- Use the description field to explain what you need help with in more detail. People connect to the “why”.
