In 2018\, after discovering that she carried the BRCA gene mutation\, Kellie opted to have a prophylactic mastectomy and hysterectomy to mitigate the risk. Kellie earned her doctoral degree from Grand Canyon University in Organizational Leadership. She shares her BRCA1 journey in the hopes that women of color will see themselves represented when making informed decisions about breast and ovarian health\, early detection\, and genetic counseling. \n \n \n \n \n\n\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Maricia Cole\, ANGEL Advocate \n \n Maricia\, of Los Angeles\, CA is a young adult (under age 40) survivor of stage 2 invasive ductal carcinoma breast cancer\, diagnosed at the age of 36. She’s a survivor who credits God\, supportive family and friends\, and an extreme will to live through her diagnosis. After going through that journey\, Maricia is now an active advocate for her community educating others about breast cancer and also being that person to go to if anyone should ever need it. As an Angel advocate I assist in hosting virtual angel trainings and serve as a panelist on several opportunities relevant to my cancer journey. \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n\n \n \n REGISTER NOW!
