SUMMARY:TYSONS CORNER CENTER SUMMERFEST FIT CLUB
DESCRIPTION:PULL UP & PARK DC\n\n\nTigerlily Foundation is thrilled to partner with Black Entertainment Television (BET) Her\, for this movie premier\, presented by Tressa Smallwood of MegaMind Media. On October 14th\, the first PULL UP & PARK DC will be held to educate\, empower and amplify black women’s stories\, highlighting breast health. As many of you already know\, disparities for Black women in breast cancer abound and the African American population is facing some of the highest disparities when it comes to COVID-19. This event will be held in the District of Columbia\, one of the cities with the highest mortality rates for Black women. We are excited to continue to educate and support all women when it comes to breast health\, particularly those at heightened risk and facing the highest disparities.  Guests will be shown a series of issues in three mini-movies\, with heart\, grace and humanity\, while highlighting the disproportionate challenges Black women face when it comes to breast and mental health\, that are often ignored or overlooked. \nAt “PULL UP & PARK”\, guests will be required to wear masks and practice social distancing. There will be COVID-19 testing on-site\, curbside kitchen partners\, black-owned small businesses and local food trucks to deliver orders to guests’ cars. Tigerlily Foundation will be providing each guest with:  a bag of 50 masks\, hand sanitizer\, educational materials on the importance of breast health\, disparities\, family health history\, triple negative breast cancer\, clinical trials\, lifestyle and more. \nThe films are produced by Tressa “Azarel” Smallwood (MegaMind Media).  Directors include Kim Fielda\, Victoria Rowell\, Sheryl Lee Ralph and Vanessa Bell Calloway\, and casting by Maggy Francois.  In line with Tigerlily Foundation’s commitment to “For Us/By Us” programming and partnerships to better reach Black women when it comes to their health\, the production\, direction\, casting\, acting\, charity and television partners are all Black women.  Tigerlily will also be giving out Hope Boxes to patients in treatment and educating attendees on the importance of continuing screening\, asking the right questions at doctor visits\, understanding genetics\, engaging in clinical trials and self-advocacy. \nEmail us at info@tigerlilyfoundation.org to save your spot!
